About Me
Hello!
My name is Nick Kerhulas and I'm from Northridge, California. I started playing tennis when I was 8 years old. In my teen years I was a decorated competitive top junior in Southern California and I played as the #1 at Granada Hills High School.
My coaches are Zbynek "Spin" Mlynarik and Federico Browne, both of whom competed at the top professional level with high rankings. I am also mentored by Head Coach Billy Martin from UCLA.
After I graduated High School I traveled to Spain and competed for over a year in professional tournaments in Barcelona and Madrid working with some of the top players and coaches in the game such as Karen Khachanov, Marcel Granollers, Galo Blanco, and Fernando Vicente.
I worked as a Pro Coach at Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center for 3 years. I was Head Coach of the boys junior varsity team at Harvard West-Lake for 2 years. I am currently the Skills Coach for Crespi High School’s varsity boys tennis team.
I have been Head Coach of Louisville High School’s girls varsity tennis team for the past 4 years. Our team made a terrific 2023 CIF playoff run all the way to Quarter Finals. My biggest accomplishment as a coach is turning Louisville’s tennis team into a real competitive program over the last 4 years.

Student Feedback
We had a poor experience with an instructor and were reassigned to Nick Kerhulas and he is excellent. He is teaching our two daughters (ages 10 and 11). He is very attentive and knowledgeable and is really good at explaining the skills while never being anything other than pleasant the entire time.
Nick was awesome to work with. Extremely patient, but at the same time, knows how and when to push you. He helps you reach your personal tennis goals by instilling confidence in you. Nick knows how to simplify the game for you and really focuses on your technique and fundamentals. I see a huge difference in my game from when I started with him. I highly recommend Nick to anyone who’s trying to improve their game.
Coach Nick is both my son and daughters favorite coach they have ever had, not only in tennis but all together. I have always appreciated the passion he coaches with. I would say his best trait is his uncanny ability to connect with people no matter the age. Our family feels lucky to have him as our coach.
Nick was very thorough when explaining techniques and drills. He is extremely knowledgeable on all facets of the game, which is important to me. All in all, I would definitely recommend Nick Kerhulas to a friend who is trying to better their game.
Coach Nick has such a wonderful energy while teaching. He is fun while focused, my daughter loves taking lessons with him and is making amazing progress. Definitely would recommend him!
My son had a wonderful experience with Nick as his coach. He came very well prepared and had drills for my son to do on his lesson and spent time to help him with his back hand. He's very energetic and kept the lesson fun which kept my son interested. I would definitely recommend him for tennis lessons as I will be taking my son back to him.
