About Me

I grew up in Seattle learning tennis from my father who helped local legend Amy Yee teach tennis to kids during the 1970-80's. I played varsity doubles and singles at Ingraham High School and played Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) Conference Tennis at Shoreline College. Inspired by Amy and my father, I studied and received my USPTA Professional Certification and have been a member since 2019. To round out my tennis knowledge and services, I am also a member of the United States Racquet Stringers Association.

I am passionate about the game of tennis and play about three to seven times a week as well as actively instructing and supporting my child who now plays high school varsity tennis and summer tournaments and aspires to continue through college via school team and club. In addition, I've been volunteering my time to the annual Amy Yee Tennis Foundation free clinics held each summer as well as assisting at kids summer tennis camps last year at a local tennis club. My teaching ability is influenced by my 20+ years of assistant instructing at the University of Washington Kannagara Aikido Club.

I hope to help grow local tennis and get more excited about this great lifetime sport for both young and old.

Teaching Style

First and foremost, my lessons are built around what my clients hope to achieve as I incorporate instruction starting from proper grips, shadow swings, hand feeds and progress to drills and play. I specialize in and emphasize fundamentals that lead to modern technique but I also value variety so that players can play from different court positions, with different spins and have their own style.
