About Me

Joe Young has a rich background in tennis, with over 20 years of experience on the court. He began his tennis career at the age of 7, and maintained a top 20 USTA sectionals ranking during his youth. He has played in ten different countries throughout Asia, and North America on the pro amateur tennis circuit as a young adult. He was recruited by over a dozen colleges, including Harvard, Brown, Notre Dame and Cornell. He defended positions 1 and 2, in both doubles and singles, as a division I college athlete for 4 years during his studies at Tulane University, where he received his degree in Biomedical Engineering. He now works as a research and development engineer, designing the next generation of humanoid robotics. His passion for tennis remains, as he continues to coach the youth using his training in tennis form & fundamentals, strategy, sports psychology, as well as fitness and health.

Student Feedback

Joe, is hands down the best coach I have ever had. His level of knowledge, expertise, and ability to meet me at my level in a kind way far surpasses anything I have experienced. I can see my progress and now my tennis mates are seeing it too!! I could go on and on about how wonderful he is but I think y’all should just see for, you won’t be disappointed 🙃

Best tennis coach ever! Joe is patient but doesn't let me slack. As a beginner I have improved my skills tremendously in the short time I have been working with Joe. I think it's because Joe is a great observer. He notices my mistakes but focuses on the solutions. Drills are all about the basics. Joe is quick to encourage and recognize my progress. Amazing!

Joe is an especially talented coach. He is is both kind and inspirational. Having a coach like Joe enables one to learn from a person who has played at the highest levels as a junior and as a division one college player. Whether you are just starting out or have pro aspirations Joe is a great choice!
