About Me
Hi, my name is Wayne. I currently direct tennis and other recreational activities at the Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth, RI. In addition, I coach the Boy's Tennis team at The Portsmouth Abbey School and teach as an adjunct professor in Physical Education at Rhode Island College. I am the Head Tester for the USPTA and oversee all certifications and upgrades for the organization in New England. I previously coached the Women's Tennis team at Providence College capturing the New England Championship in 2004.
Teaching Style
Every lesson will incorporate a theme or subject. Stroke or mechanical errors will be diagnosed and broken down and instruction will be geared to the students level in a series of teaching progressions in an effort to solve those errors. Students are taught to identify opponent's shot making abilities and will learn how to employ strokes and tactics necessary to compete on all levels with success. I have coached many high school state champions and have a high success rate in developing players for intercollegiate tennis.
