About Me
As a professional coach, helping athletes improve and achieve their goals is my true passion. Over the past sixteen years, I have coached tennis to students of all ages with various capabilities. Additionally, my experience as an associate professor and high school teacher has equipped me with extensive teaching and communication skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with my students. I am recognized for my creative and fun coaching style while maintaining a strong emphasis on establishing correct form and technique—a foundation for success. Whether coaching specific skills, game strategy, or mindfulness, I always explain the reasoning behind my suggestions and how they can help enhance performance.
Teaching Style
Tennis, being a skill-based sport, requires a solid foundation. Therefore, I emphasize establishing the "correct form" and ensuring players grasp fundamental techniques (forehand, backhand, serve, volley etc.) along with efficient footwork and agility. This knowledge serves as the cornerstone for competitive tennis. I personalize my coaching approach to align with each player's unique needs, abilities, and objectives. In addition, while offering constructive feedback, I motivate athletes by emphasizing their strengths. I recognize that skill development is a gradual process demanding patience and perseverance, a reality I consistently reinforce with myself and my athletes. My teaching style is interactive, encouraging athletes to actively participate in the coaching process. This includes asking questions, discussing the pros and cons of certain techniques and strategies, and fostering an environment where athletes feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings.

Wali was very easy to work with. He made himself available for regular lessons. He was knowledgeable and helped work on groundstrokes and also strategy on the court. I would highly recommend him for lessons.
He gives good tips on improving techniques and teaches the skills to make you a better player. Wali is patient and will give drills to help reinforce the skills you are learning.
