About Me
As a tennis coach and instructor in the Madison area for the last 20 years, I have been able to share my passion for the world's greatest lifetime sport with players of all ages and ability levels. My summer camps for children ages 5 and up are based on QuickStart principles of game-based learning , age-appropriate skills, and good old-fashioned FUN! I have been the varsity boys' tennis coach at McFarland High School since 2002 and have built a program that has qualified student athletes for the state tournament every year. I have also coached girls' high school programs at the freshmen, JV, and varsity levels. I am a USPTA certified tennis pro and have run numerous tennis programs and camps through the Greater Madison Tennis Association.
Teaching Style
I have worked with all types and sizes of groups, from recreational programs of 30 or more elementary school students to small groups of beginner adults to private lessons with ambitious varsity high school players. So I have a vast array of drills, games, and teaching strategies that can be adapted and modified for any lesson. My most important goal is to have every student leave every lesson with a smile and the satisfaction of experiencing improvement.
