About Me

Hello,

I am Stuart McCroskey, a high school teacher, former college tennis player, and tennis coach in greater Richmond. Tennis has been a significant part of my life for the past twenty years, and I have been teaching the sport for over a decade. My dedication to tennis is evident in the numerous children, teenagers, and adults I have taught. I have served as assistant head coach at Randolph-Macon College and Assistant teaching pro at Three Chopt Tennis, Racquet Club, and Midlothian Tennis Club. I have also worked at several tennis camps, including Randolph-Macon, The University of Richmond, and The Dominion Club. For the past six years I have also been the head boy's tennis coach at Patrick Henry High School in Ashland Va. When I am not teaching tennis, I enjoy hanging out with my wife, playing with our dog, and going on hikes.

Teaching Style

Before any lesson, I ask the students what THEY want to work on and how my expertise in the sport can best serve them. Having a background in education, I take various differentiated approaches to teach my students to achieve higher success. I offer fun, private, semi-private, group, clinic, and hitting-only lessons for all students, no matter their skill level or age. I focus on everything from the basics of forehands and backhands to the more technical aspects of the game, such as point play, point construction, and overall strategy. I always enjoy meeting new people and I hope I can help you out with your game!
