About Me
Hello! My name is Steven and I have been playing tennis my entire life. I am 33-years-old and have been teaching tennis for the past 15 years. I started my tennis instructing career at my undergrad, Boston College, and I have been loving it ever since! I am graduated law school at Stetson Law in Gulfport, FL and practice in Tampa. I do have a full time job, so weekends or weeknights are best for me.
I am a positive, easy-going instructor who can improve your game from day 1. I am open to meeting players at their most convenient courts and times. I teach all levels: children, adults, beginners, or advance players and I make sure to keep things light and fun.
I am very good with kids and spent most of my time in Boston teaching group lessons of 5-15 people. If you want to get better at tennis and also have fun doing it, please reach out!
Teaching Style
I encourage a love of the game. For children especially, it is important to have them enjoy the game before mastering the technique. Tennis is a game you can play your entire life, it is much more important to enjoy it early than to get frustrated and give up. My lessons always include warmups, technique building drills, and games.
After meeting my players, I can tailor lessons to match their personalities. Do you like getting a workout? Do you want to play more games? Do you want to get technical? Do you want to focus on one aspect of your game or the complete package? Do you want to play singles or doubles? etc...

Stephen taught my kids tennis for several years, starting when they were around 5. Both boys loved him as their instructor. He'd engage them with games during drills to keep them focused. By the time they were each 8, they could handle a racket and volley with us. My husband even signed on for a few private lessons himself and improved his form and his serve. Stephen has a great temperament for teaching kids -- patient, funny, fun -- and also has the skill to teach at any level. I'd highly recommend Stephen for anyone who wants to learn or improve their game.
We had Steven teach our kids tennis each Sunday for several summers at a town court in MA. I believe the lessons were 45 minutes each. He had a great rapport with both kids and parents. The kids were different ages and levels. He was patient and encouraging to all. Highly recommend him!
Steven is an excellent tennis instructor. He always kept our children engaging and having fun while advancing their tennis skills.
