About Me
Hi, my name is Stephen. I played number 1 at the University of Rhode Island for 4 years and then turned pro. I played on the tour until I was 30 years old. In 1990 I got to the quarter-finals of the US Pro. I was also Ivan Lendl's practice partner for 9 months when he was number one in the world.
I started coaching at 20 and I started coaching full-time at the age of 30. I started as the pro at the Marriott Beach Resort in Marco Island and went on to teach at some of the finest resorts in the country. I then moved on to working with high performance Juniors and nationally ranked Jrs. I moved to Atlanta 8 years ago. I then became the private coach for an NFL player from the Atlanta Falcons. She got a full scholarship to college, so I did my job.
In 2017 I finished third at The World Championships taking home the bronze medal in doubles. I also finished 5th at the USTA grass court nationals and finished 7th in the country playing only 3 tournaments.
Teaching Style
Any lesson is structured to tour the individual not mass-produced. Even if you were working on the same thing for a while you have to drill teach and look at that shot in different ways so that the student doesn't get bored doing the same thing and being repetitive over and over again to where learning can become boring.
