About Me

Hi, my name is Shenelle. I have experience teaching all ages, as well as all skill levels. I am also available as a hitting partner for those interested. I currently have eight years of school playing experience (four in high school, four in college). At Valencia High I accumulated many awards including All League Doubles, winning the preliminary tournament, winning Fall Brawl, ending with a 44-2 record and played a full season at #1 doubles. At the University of La Verne (ranked #14 in the nation in 2014), I played #6 and #4 singles as well as #3 and #2 doubles. I helped the team reach the regional tournament as well as a #2 in SCIAC and #5 in the region. I have a strong knowledge of the sport of tennis itself as well. I've grown up with tennis my whole life. I am very friendly and flexible and will teach wherever is most comfortable for the client.

Teaching Style

I have advanced knowledge in ball placement, footwork, technique and mental toughness. Depending on the size of the lesson, I will focus more on either one-on-one feeding or direct point construction games. Some lessons require less time on the court and more time focusing on agility or how you think during a match, but that is up to the client. It does not matter the level of seriousness or commitment, all I hope is that my students will learn to love all parts of this sport.
