About Me
Hi, my name is Ryan. I started playing tennis in middle school and played varsity tennis all four years of high school. I won state as a doubles player my senior year in Colorado. I was given a scholarship to play college tennis at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. After i graduated I coached two years at Bishop Carroll High School in Wichita, KS. I am married and have 3 beautiful children (2 girls and 1 boy) I am currently a 1st grade teacher in Wichita, KS. I am looking to give tennis lessons during the summer time and during the school year at times after school and weekends. Thanks!
Teaching Style
I have a general all around approach to my tennis lessons. I like to begin with about 5-10 minute warmup where we hit back and forth and loosen up. I then tend to go over a few things I would like to work on, give an example, and then we practice that skill for about 10-15 minutes. My specialty would have to be ground strokes and volleys (especially since I was a strong doubles player in high school and college). Depending upon who I am working with will determine the intensity of the lesson. If I am working with a new student to the game I will be much more relaxed and patient, while I'll expect much more out of a student who is looking to improve to make their particular team or improve there current skill set. My main goal is to help you improve your overall tennis skill set and grow to love the game as much as I do.

I purchased 12, 1 hour lessons with Ryan for my 15 year old daughter. Ryan was very professional, a natural teacher, kept my daughter's interest and made the lessons fun. I would definitely recommend Ryan as an instructor. We are at the end of weather permitting time but will be signing back up in the Spring.

We hired Ryan to teach my 2 boys (ages 15 and 13), one of whom was just starting out with tennis and the other who had played for a year. Ryan was very good at changing up his instruction to fit the individual needs of each of my boys. At first, he was more lenient with my son who was new to tennis, while challenging my more seasoned son. Now, after 8 weeks of lessons, he has both boys playing fairly equal. It has sure been fun to watch Ryan given them great instruction, and then stay on them until they perfect their form to be the best players possible. We still have 12 hours left with Ryan, and I am very much looking forward to watching the boys grow into even better tennis players under his coaching! I would HIGHLY recommend Ryan - he is very knowledgeable, patient, and GOOD at what he does. Plus, he has FUN during lessons as well! My boys always look forward to their lessons each week!
