About Me
My name is Philip, I am a USPTA certified coach. I have 2 years of coaching experience as the assistant tennis instructor at Highlands Country Club. Additionally I have been doing private lessons for the past year. I am currently coaching for the Franklin Park Tennis Institution and have over a hundred hours of experience in private and semi-private lessons.
Teaching Style
My lessons emphasize student's development in the psychological aspects of tennis while simultaneously developing their mechanical skills. I begin with short court warm up exercises, then a few volleying exercises, and finally I proceed into base line rallying drills. The sessions are typically wrapped up with a practice match. This of course varies greatly depending on the age and skill level of my clientele.

I have had lessons with a number of coaches over the years, but Philip is head and shoulders above the rest. After every lesson, my game improved significantly. After just one class, I was beating people whom I previously lost to. Philip is unique in that he learned tennis relatively late in life and became very good very quickly, so he knows how to build up your game without having to start when you are 5 or 6 years old. (That said, he was also great in group lessons in my daughter's camp.) Philip is a very polite and outgoing person who makes the lessons fun, while teaching all sorts of useful things other coaches don't mention. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
Phillip is very encouraging, all positve reinforcement. His feedback is meaningful and he explains the reasoning to go along with his instruction;thus solidifying the purpose and allowing one to make solid connections because of understanding the why. He is patient and really wants the best for his students. The best part of his training is the thorough analysis he does before he approaches any corrections or modifications. l look forward to learning more from him. I felt stagnant until we started working together.
Philip is very passionate about teaching tennis. Its My third lesson with him and He already taught me so much including correct form, footwork and mental strategy. Great work ! Thanks
Great experience - we worked on serve, volley & strategy
Hitting with Philip was a blast. He's very friendly and welcoming. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but after 30 minutes with him my game was back to top shape.
i Appreciate his insight very much. spot on.
My lesson with Philip took about an hour and a half. We started with a few minutes of short court rallying, and finished our warm up with some short court volleying. We then jumped into some baseline cross court rallies. After a few drills I saw unbelievable improvement in my precision and control.
Very solid instruction. I was able to hit 10-15 hit ralleys constantly after about 30 minutes of practice. It's ridiculous how much our mindset impacts our game.
Very good!
