About Me

Hi, my name is Peter. I was born in Russia and came to United States in 1975 at the age of sixteen. I never played tennis In Russia because at that time there was no tennis courts close by. My first part time job was at Flamingo Park Tennis Center that was once home to the Jr. Orange Bowl. That is where I picked up a tennis racquet for the first time and fell in love with this incredible sport. I worked with different coaches 10 to 15 minutes at the time, when they had time or when I had a break from work. In 1976, I made a Miami Beach Senior High School Boys Varsity Tennis where I played for two seasons as #2, single and #1 double player. I played competitive tennis at NTPR Level 4.5 for several years. I have been a USTA/USPTA Recreational Tennis Coach for 7 years and running my own Summer Tennis program In Pocono, PA. I have worked at tennis clubs and camps for past 3 years. I am a Professional tennis coach for students ages 6 -17. I am USPTA – Professional 2 APC and Certified PTR Jr. Development – Professional. I want to share my passion and develop the skills for tennis students who love the game as

Proper stance and footwork hitting forehand and backhand during live ball drills followed by fun practice game to instantly use your new skills. Introduction or go over forehand and backhand volleys, proper movement, positioning and footwork. Main focus is on control so that students can quickly move to rallying with a friend and having more fun with tennis.

This has been my son's first experience with formal tennis lessons. Peter improved his form at the first lesson and he has continued to improve with each lesson. Very happy with the progress and highly recconmend Peter.

I would highly recommend Peter to anyone who wants a professional, flexible, prompt, friendly and engaging tennis instructor for themselves or their children. My son and my daughter (who is a true beginner and quite shy) loved their lessons and improved significantly with Peter. They signed up reluctantly, wanting complete freedom during their summer break, and ended up looking forward to each and every lesson, and they even practicing in between. As soon as their school schedules get ironed out, I will hopefully be signing them up for more - they are asking!

We chose Peter as a tennis instructor for my 9 year-old daughter for 12 weeks, and I definitely don't think we could have made a better choice. My daughter had previous tennis experience but only in a group setting. We knew that she needed a private instructor when we saw that she was frustrated with how slow she was progressing in a group setting. My daughter did not know what to expect during her first lesson but as soon as she started, Peter made it enjoyable. After 3 lessons, she already felt she was progressing and knew where she needed to improve. Peter knows how to work with children and was able to keep my daughter motivated in every lesson. Even though it was only a one hour lesson once a week Peter made sure he made every minute count and no lesson was the same, which made it enjoyable. We are now on our last week, but I can see that my daughter improved all round. I recommend Peter because he has always been punctual for every lesson and there was always excellent communication via email or by phone. She has learnt more in these 12 weeks than during her group lessons. I wish she would have taken these private lessons a year ago as I wouldn't have felt that I was wasting my money in her group lessons.

I've had several lessons with Peter at this point. Each has been well planned out with new drills, and I have improved greatly. He is very experienced, has a great temperment, and takes time to explain all the finer points. I also appreciate that he comes to my neighborhood courts, making it super convenient for me. I highly recommend Peter.

I'm pretty stubborn because I played in H.S and think I'm ok. Peter is basically trying to teach fundamental because I actually don't know any of it. I'm not an easy person to teach, and he tells me about 20 times a lesson but he doesn't give up. Encouraging and patient! Awesome instructor! I see myself improving with each lesson. If only I can remember to practice in between the lessons!
