About Me
**Not available until Feb. 23, 2026** Hi, my name is Owen. I have been teaching tennis for as long as I have been playing it. The summer before my freshman year of high school I volunteered with First Serve Bridgeport, and I went back every summer for eight years. I also played on my high school tennis team for four years and was a captain my senior year. I have taught mostly children from as young as 4 to high school age, but have also done private lessons with parents that want to learn alongside their children. Over the past few year I have gained much more experience teaching beginner to moderate level adults.
Teaching Style
Lessons begin with casual hitting to understand what the student is looking to work on and what they need help with. Then I run drills to focus on a specific skill, often there is a "skill of the day" that the student wants to work on or that I decide will be useful. During breaks in hitting there is informative conversation and constructive feedback. The lessons often end with a fun, competitive game.

Owen is such a fun, focused, educational tennis instructor. He was incredibly patient teaching my daughter and me. He made the drills fun, and he explained the mechanics of the racquet swing so that we were more successful in hitting both forehands and backhands. I highly recommend him as a tennis instructor!
