I have worked with him for years. He is consistent. He is helpful. He is available. He is punctual. He is professional. He is there for you through the mental struggle of becoming a better tennis player. I primarily needed a hitting partner to prepare me for tournaments and matches but had such a difficult schedule that I ended up hitting regularly with Oscar who could match my availability but it ended up being very fortunate for me to stumble across him in terms of coaching. We usually focus on one troubled area in my game then hit and play matches which works very well for a competitive 4.0 to 4.5 player who then follows this with playing matches regularly. He has a very complete game and helps you through available repetition try to complete yours. Really appreciate his help over the years and have had some good results.
I can’t recommend Oscar highly enough as a tennis coach. I’ve been working with him consistently for several years, starting as a 3.0 player, and with his guidance I quickly progressed to the 3.5-4.0 level. He has a remarkable ability to meet you where you are and steadily build your skills and confidence over time. One of the things that really sets Oscar apart is how he trains the cardio side of tennis. Our sessions are always dynamic and challenging, and he has a skillful way of gradually increasing the intensity so I keep improving without feeling overwhelmed or plateauing. Oscar is also an incredible hitting partner — he gets everything back! That consistency has helped me develop much stronger, more reliable ground strokes. When we play points, he shares practical strategies that I can immediately apply in match play, which has made a huge difference in my USTA matches. I even use the drills we practice together as part of my warm-up routine before matches because they reliably get me in the right physical and mental mindset. Beyond the court, Oscar goes the extra mile by sending thoughtful recaps, encouraging videos, and supportive messages between lessons. His dedication, positivity, and genuine investment in his students’ growth make him an outstanding coach and mentor.
