About Me
Hi, my name is Oscar. I am a recent college graduate. I played tennis at Claremont Mudd Scripps, a top 5 Division 3 ranked team. I was a starter in singles in doubles. In high school, I won the Washington State Championship in singles and doubles. I have been teaching children and adults since high school, in private and group lessons.
Teaching Style
I emphasize good technique. Muscle memory becomes very ingrained, so it is important to develop good movements right away. I had a great technical coach, so I have remembered a lot of lessons from him. I teach a style that I believe will give the student long-term potential. I ask the people what they want to work on, and I focus on a few specific things per lesson, and work on drills that will help with developing a certain skill.

Oscar is an excellent tennis player, and that translates to his being able to impart sound coaching for skill improvement. I came to him wanting to learn to hit a topspin backhand, and he taught me that, while also noticing issues with my forehand that we are now working on addressing. He's willing to spend the time it takes to work through things and has worked with me on scheduling. I recommend getting lessons from him!
My forehand is performing better already!
Oscar is the man! The guy knows how to teach from the ground up, and makes concepts simple to understand. I can’t thank him enough for helping me start my love for the game of Tennis
Oscar was really professional to me and my roommate who are beginners with no experience. Oscar taught us good technique and we did drills to improve our methods. He was also very responsive on text & punctual. Would recommend
