About Me
Greetings, my name is Milton. I am the head coach at upuptennis. I have been teaching for 16 years and have played competitive junior tennis including playing in the ITF circuit as a junior. I was a nationally ranked junior and have continued to play throughout my adulthood. I have taught at B n Z sports based in California where I worked closely with juniors who have gone on to be collegiate players. I want to help groom players of all levels and ages to reach their tennis potential. I hold memberships with the USTA and have been a certified PTR instructor for the past 10 years.
Teaching Style
I specialize in working with young players that aspire to be great junior players and collegiate players or one-day turn pro. I also focus not only on the physical aspect of the game but the technical and mental toughness required to be a competitive tennis player. Lessons are set in one-hour blocks, drills, hitting, match practice, and strategy sessions are all part of the teaching experience. All ages and skill sets are welcome.

Coach Milton is great!
My kids love their lessons.
Milton has been great so far. Since this was my first time playing tennis, we spent the first four lessons driving home the basics: forehand, backhand, volleys, and lobs. His energy and his passion for tennis shows at every training. My progression since the first practice and now is noticeable. He typically responds to messages within 48hrs or so. I also tend to work from his schedule on time and place since my schedule is more flexible.
For a beginner he adjusted fast to skill level and gave good feedback for progression of skill level
Coach Milton has a great ability to work with his students. Works with parents and kids to ensure there is best possible outcome from the lesson. Works with our schedule. My kid was very happy to work with him from day one as he gives the right amount of breaks during the session and also is flexible to work based on the improvements needed. I have seen step by step improvement every day for my kid. Could not have asked for a better coach. I highly recommend Coach Milton.
Great first lesson! My son is only in town for a short time so I am appreciative that Milton was very accommodating to his schedule. Very knowledgeable and able to communicate in a way to make my son want to listen. Only thing I wish now is that we lived there so Milton could help him reach his full potential with a solid background!

Milton was very accommodating with regard to my schedule. He focuses on technique and experience as a teacher was very helpful. We met at tennis courts close to my office which allowed me to actually play tennis given that it has been difficult for me to take lessons with other instructors in the past. We did drills and then played and it was clear to me that I had improved over a period of time. I would definitely recommend him to others.
Milton is an extremely knowledgeable tennis coach who manages to make the lessons fun, in addition to a time to advance your skillset. I saw immediate improvement after each lesson and looked forward to my lessons every week. Highly recommend him, after using a previous coach on this site!

In one lesson, my son was hitting the ball properly. One lesson and it was like night and day. My son was getting frustrated before his lesson and now he can't wait the get on the court. Milton was able to communicate well with my son. He knew where to start and what to work on. Great job.

Yes, I can travel up to 20 miles to a tennis court in your area.
