My name is Michael and I am native of Los Angeles, I have been playing tennis since the age of 6, playing competitive tennis through the juniors, High School Tennis, college tennis, and professional satellite tennis. I attended the John Newcombe Tennis Academy where I worked with my coach/mentor Clarence Mabry, one of the best collegiate coaches in his day. As a junior I worked with Roscoe Tanner, former #4 player in the world and Australian Open Winner. I have been fortunate to work with great coaches and love to share my knowledge with my students.
I structure the lessons to fit your objectives. I focus on such things as stroke production, strategy, the mental game of tennis, match play (with feedback) or any combination thereof -- you decide. I can design and implement programs for beginners, juniors, to advanced players to bring all to the next level. I strive to make lessons both fun and challenging while inspiring the student to utilize their capabilities to the best of their ability. I can help you achieve whatever level of tennis you want to get to.

I would 100% recommend Michael to anyone that wants to improve their game no matter what level they are. There was a visible difference in my strokes after the 2nd lesson and every subsequent one has improved all points of my game. He encourages you to think about your mistakes instead of outright telling you all the time. Very friendly and really drills the importance of basics into you.
I was looking for a coach who could help raise my game to the next level, Michael has a great background, knowledge, and is a top notch player. He has helped me over the years to achieve my goals in tennis
Michael is insightful, knowledgeable and encouraging in his coaching of my teenage daughter. He has greatly improved her mechanics and footwork. She made the varsity tennis team as a freshman and was captain as a junior. She is a hitting partner/manager for the boys varsity team. He helped her to set and work toward her tennis goals. Michael patiently encouraged her to challenge herself and to strive to become a better player. His standards are high but he is more than willing to do the work to help his students meet those standards. Our family highly recommends Michael as a tennis coach!
He starts from the basics patiently and waits until you get better.
Michael is an excellent instructor and highly recommended.....Thank you very much.
I'm an older (65+) beginner, and Michael has been great. He is very patient and wonderfully clear at explaining the basics and breaking down every move, grip and swing into the fundamental components. He will stop me midswing and show me what I'm doing wrong, along with how to improve it so that I can learn from my actual moves, which is far better than just describing it after the fact. He's both very patient and very motivating. I would recommend him to any person attempting to learn this complex and frustrating game.
After working as intermediate level with Michael, my shot making and confidence have improved. He is patient and has experienced working with different levels of players.
Michael has been fantastic with my 15-year-old! She's never even lifted a tennis racket but wanted to try out for her high school tennis team. In just seven weeks of lessons, she went from no experience to making the team! Michael was completely committed to getting her as much experience as possible, supported her and taught her skills she needed to play. He also connected her with other students to get additional practice and was so good at checking in to ensure she was getting the additional court time she needed to get in as much practice as possible. We are so pleased with his coaching, follow up and care!
