About Me
Hi, my name is Matthew. I am a long time passionate tennis player and certified USPTA Instructor. I love working with beginners and intermediate players of all ages. Aside from tennis but relevant athletic and teaching experience include being a 4 year NCAA varsity hockey player at The University of Connecticut, completion of 6 Marathons, 20 years of fitness and health teaching with kids as an owner of My Gym Children's Fitness Centers. I am deeply committed to helping others improve their tennis game!
Teaching Style
I like to keep students engaged, moving, and having fun. I focus on the process and growth/improvement in each lesson as building blocks
to provide my students with tools to help them achieve their goals; Results are important of course but the technique including footwork, balance, preparation, swing pattern(s) and recovery are essential as is a strong mental foundation and hard work in order to be the best player one can be.

"My boys LOVE their lessons with Matt! He adds so much fun, humor, and relatability to working with people of any age - beyond the obvious skills and fundamentals of the game. He is very invested and provides plenty for them to work on between the lessons as well. So glad that he has time to fit them in"!
My experience with Matt Hendison was very professional and knowledgable. I learned so much in just one hour than I did in a month. Regards. Sergio
