About Me
Passionate tennis/pickleball instructor with a strong background as a former Division 1 collegiate tennis player, junior team tennis coach/captain, and private and group tennis coach at tennis facilities in the northern VA area. Over 25 years coaching experience specializing on teaching biomechanics of all strokes as well as footwork and strategy. I am an avid lover of the games of tennis and pickleball and have participated in many USTA and other tennis and pickleball leagues throughout the area.
Teaching Style
A lot of my teaching style depends on the level and the student(s). For beginner students I focus heavily on technique and fundamentals using primarily drop and hand feeding until they can progress to a rally. For more advanced students I may work more on advanced techniques such as refining existing strokes, footwork, rallies down the line/cross-court and using patterns to set up and win points in a match. For group lessons I like to organize drills to ensure they all can hit a lot of balls rather than standing waiting in line and set up drills/games to promote friendly competition amongst the students.
