About Me
My name is Marquette, and I've been playing tennis for about ten years. I played in USTA through middle and high school. I also was a High School player, playing singles all four years. My senior year I was captain of my tennis team at Canton High School. Tennis has taught me so many lessons about myself and about life as a whole, which is why I enjoy teaching that to others. I've been teaching and coaching tennis for two years and I love being able to share what tennis is for me with my students. My favorite thing over all about teaching Tennis is building relationships with my students and providing them a safe place to learn, grow and be themselves, even if it's just for an hour a week.
Teaching Style
I like to give instruction, demonstration and the reps in that order. I put most of my emphasis on reps during my lessons, so that my student has the opportunity to apply what they've learned consistently. Working this way has given some of my current students the confidence to practice on their own time between lessons, as well as making each lesson as hands on and interactive as possible.
