About Me

Hi, my name is Mariano.

I’m originally from Argentina and am the former under 18 Argentine national champion. I was ranked in the top 20 in Argentina under 18 singles and top 10 in Argentina under 18 doubles. I won several Grade 3 and 2 tournaments.

I came to the United States four years ago to play JCC tennis. I played two years at De Anza College and won several single and team torunaments. I played no. 1 single and double. We won the coastl conference twice and become the second first tennis team in North Cal. We also end up the best 4th team in California.

I spent four years working with high school players who are hoping to get college scholarships and also have experience working with wheelchair tennis groups. I worked three years a Silicon Valley Tennis Academy with groups of different ages and skills. I enjoy teaching players of all ages and skill levels.

Teaching Style

I am always looking forward to meeting new tennis players!

First, I will ask you to tell me a little bit about your tennis experience. Then, I like to start with the warm-up so I can observe your technique and analyze your mistakes.

After 5 minutes of mini tennis, I like to move to the baseline to continue the warm-up. During the lessons, we will talk about some feedback on your game and then I usually let you decide on what we are going to work on for the rest of the time. I will point out three main things you should work on during next 20 minutes.

Moving forward, I will go through a detailed explanation of 'your problem' and what we are going to do in order to fix it. I will provide you with an exact plan of how the lesson is going to look like for the rest of the time and 3 drills that will help you to improve your game. Starting with static drills and adding a progression with each new drill.

Finishing up with a fun game or a cool down hitting. Leaving last 5 mins for a ball clean up and discussing what worked and what did not.

I hope to see you on the court soon!
