Hi, my name is Maria and I am originally from Colombia, South America. I have been playing tennis since I was 9 years old. Back in Colombia I was the number 3 ranked player in the country where I played as a tennis pro for about 5 years. To further my playing career I accepted a tennis scholarship from Southeastern State Oklahoma University where I played both 1st and 2nd position and majored in Sports and Recreation. Teaching Style
I like to focus first on a student’s technique and after time as they get better with their technique I like to rally with the student. For me it is always important to give continuous tips and always encourage the student throughout the lesson. I specialize in teaching technique forehand, serve and backhand.

I had private lessons with Maria without any experiences in tennis. She is an amazing coach! We moved along very quickly and she taught me tennis techniques I never known. She is always on time and pays attention to how I did and always correct what I did wrong which I love that! She gives me lessons which change my perspective of back-hand swing forever! She taught beginner's drills and we moved along quickly. After assuring that I had understood everything she was saying, we moved on into quicker paced drills. Then we scrimmaged against each other (learning along the way) and ended.
We hired Maria to give tennis lessons to my wife, who has not played for a number of years. Maria is very good instructor, but more than that, she is a sweet person, and has been very accommodating w/ our schedule. It's the rainy season in South Florida, and Maria has even driven across town on a scooter in the rain, to give the lessons. Despite getting soaked more than once, she never complained. We are very glad that we hired Maria.
