About Me

Hi, my name is Manny and I have been playing this beautiful game since I was a 12-year-old boy. I played in many tournaments throughout my middle school and high school days and excelled due to the great coaching and supportive environment I was given back then. I went on to play for my college club team at UTSA and at private tennis clubs around San Antonio. Since 2016 I have developed a passion for teaching kids how to play and this drove me to become certified by the USTA to teach 10 and under tennis. I absolutely love coaching and it has become my desire to instill that same love and passion for the game into today's youth, in hopes of leaving an impact that will stay with them forever.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is focused around learning the basics in a fun way that will bring out a kids creativity and imagination. All the lessons I offer are tailored after the QuickStart 10-and-under tennis program introduced by the USTA. (UPDATE SEE BELOW)

*I NOW TEACH ALL BEGINNERS NOT JUST CHILDREN*

My students will be introduced to the fundamentals of tennis through activities designed to build a solid foundation for long term athletic development. I will guide you into constructing both the technical/mechanical aspect of your overall game (in 6 lessons or less) as well as helping in the mental aspect (which will take more than 6 lessons).

Kids activities are focused on developing the ABCs (agility, balance and coordination) all while forming the skills necessary to serve, rally and score.

After developing the basics, ALL of my beginner students will then be ready to develop more dynamic movement and footwork patterns that focus on sending and receiving. Introduction to topspin and underspin on both forehand and backhand strokes and the different grips used. Ability to intentionally place the ball short, deep and side-to-side will also be developed.

Every lesson will have a progressive set of games and drills that focuses on all aspects of the game (Groundstrokes, volleys, serving, returning, movement) with the goal of making players well rounded.

I’m really enjoying my lessons with Manny. I’m learning a lot quickly but also great attention to proper detail and technique. Busy money I’ve ever spent on tennis. Can’t wait for our next session

Coach Manny worked with my three kids aged 9, 7, and 5. He was amazing at coming up with games to teach them the proper skills in a way that really made them leave his lesson begging for more. He was very flexible and made scheduling lessons easy. We really really enjoyed our experience with him and HIGHLY recommend Manny as a coach.
