About Me
Hey everyone, my name is Mackenzie (Coach Smith to my players) and I am a huge fan of the game of tennis and love coaching the sport! I'm a student at Full Sail University working on getting my Masters in Film/TV Production and my Bachelor's degree in Sportscasting. If I'm not on the courts, I'm in the gym working out. I'm a very active person and I enjoy doing things to get the blood flowing!
It doesn't matter if you are 6 or 96 years old, I LOVE coaching the game of tennis! I've worked with players who just picked up a racquet for the first time and players that have been playing for over half their life. It doesn't matter what level you are, if you want to get better and want a coach that's going to do everything to support you and make you better, I'm your girl. Excited to work with y'all! :)
Teaching Style
My coaching/teaching styles consist of 2 different styles. Motivational and Mental Coaching. The motivational aspect involves inspiring and motivating players to give their best effort, stay committed to their training, and overcome challenges or setbacks they may encounter. Which is what I strive to do. I want you to play the best game you can and I'm going to encourage you every step of the way! The mental aspect is focusing on developing mental toughness, concentration, resilience, and confidence. I use techniques such as visualization, goal-setting, relaxation techniques, and positive self-talk to enhance the player's mental game.
