About Me

I have more than 40 years of experience playing tennis and 15 years experience teaching adults, juniors and seniors. I have participated in several USTA Smashzone Tennis Youth Development programs and teach weekly in San Francisco, Pacifica, San Bruno, Burlingame, Oakland and Milbrea.

Teaching Style

My teaching style emphasizes footwork, footwork, footwork. My program is a combination of physical fitness, footwork and tennis fundamentals. I believe the essence of tennis is proper biomechanics in each stroke. The best players use precise footwork to create a chain reaction: it begins with their feet and spirals through their core section ending in a snap of the wrist through contact. It takes a lot of hard work to become a top player and hard work without proper biomechanics can only take you so far: it’s not the amount of time on court everyday, it’s how productively you use that time. I will show you how to incorporate strategies into your game depending on the style of your opponent. I want to fine tune your game to reach your ultimate potential.

He spent the majority of his time with me talking about himself. And his life as a musician. I quit my lessons due to his arrogant behavior.

Coach Lee is an excellent tennis coach . My 12 yr old son took private lesson with another instructor for about 6 mos previously. We got assigned to coach Lee because our previous instructor moved out of the area. Coach Lee refined the techniques and made the lesson really for my son. We're so thankful that we found coach Lee.

Lee is truly a great coach. I have played tennis from 5 to 18 competitively and on and off since then, and am now 32 and want to get back into it more seriously. After the first class, he was able to define the key things we need to work on, and I went home with 5 concrete things to drastically improve the way I play and that was just the first lesson. He reads your play very well. He pushes you so you get the most out of each lesson. He is also a very interesting guy to chat with so that's a plus.

We love Coach Lee. He is teaching our whole family. We have a 4 year old, a 6 year old and 2 adults that played tennis when we were young but have not played for years. He is able to adapt his teaching techniques depending on the group / level of expertise and it is amazing how much progress we have made since under his instruction. We always look forward to our lessons with Coach Lee.
