About Me
I've been playing tennis recreationally since I was 17. I always had fun playing the game but I was never serious about tennis until a friend got me to join a ladder in Pittsburgh back in 2023. Since then I’ve been fascinated with bettering myself at the game.
As I've been growing as a player and meeting other passionate players, I've found it highly rewarding to share with others my knowledge and love for the game. In mid 2024 I decided to pursue a career in coaching . Since then I've obtained a PTR coaching certification and gained experience through:
- Private Lessons (individuals and groups)
- Highland Park Tennis Club clinics
- McDonald, PA Summer Tennis Program
- Buddy Up Tennis
Teaching Style
I specialize in getting players to the rally as fast as possible. My belief is that good rallies lead to the most fun which leads to the fastest progress as a player.
My emphasis depends on the student. Some students need a lesson in forward momentum...others in using the correct grip. I always try to keep to a concise, central emphasis for each lesson and I try to avoid overloading a student with too much, too quickly.
An hour long lesson with me typically goes as follows:
- 10m warmups, coach observations
- 5m conversation w/ player(s), emphasis for the day is decided based on warmups or player request(s)
- 20m skill development
- 20m game development
- 5m cool down, review, and homework
