About Me
Hi, my name is Jesus a.k.a. Coach Chuy. I bring the fun, the silly and the playfulness with some balance coaching to every tennis lesson. My old high school coach once told me "a good coach never stops being a good student" and I tried to live by those words ever since, that is the reason I love coaching the sport of tennis. I have been a massive student of the game ever since I discovered it back in 1990 when I saw Andre Agassi play Boris Becker on TV and almost immediately I started coaching without knowing it, by copying their tennis moves in the mirror to perfect my technique. Ever since my love for the game grew and grew and it has not stopped growing even today. That is why I love spreading the word about tennis any chance I can by coaching it.
I always like starting my on court lessons with a little bit of fun helps break the ice and relaxes the mind to begin the mental education about the game. I also like using unusual methods to develop and practice the artful technique of the game. Even on rainy days I tend not to cancel my lessons, which are the perfect days to work on the fluency form of the forehand, backhand, serve, even the toss and preparation for hitting the ball with some tools that I have fabricated myself. I make this promise; I won’t make anybody do push-ups or laps around the court if you keep making the same errors on the court, but I just might make you dance a little ha-ha.
Teaching Style
I have a relax teaching style in the beginning and it elevates in intensity as my students increase in skill level. I focus on form and hand eye coordination with emphasis on early preparation to always be prepared for any shot coming over the net. I am ole school so I believe in homework between lessons. I structure my lessons from weakest (what shots my students have most difficult) to strongest ( what shots come natural to them).

Amazing instructor! Incredibly encouraging.
Our boys LOVE tennis lessons with Jesus! He works with them and helps each become better each practice! He is positive, encouraging , and they get one heck of a work out! (but they LOVE IT!!) I am happy we chose Jesus and very thankful to have him coach our boys!!! :-) :-)
I have had a great experience in training with Jesus. He is very compassionate in his teaching.
I enjoyed my lesson. Jesus is knowledgable and patient
Jesus was very thorough and straight forward. He was very good at starting from the very beginning with someone who has had no experience playing. He did a good job with drills to teach different strokes and swinging techniques. The lessons were also organized well in that future lessons built upon what had been learned in previous lessons.
Jesus has helped with all aspects of my game. We began on my strokes, both short and long. We are currently working on improving my first serve percentage and I am already improving. I recommend Jesus as a tennis coach, who will help you improve your game completely. I am now always looking forward to play tennis more than I have in the past.
