About Me
Hi, my name is Jayner and I'm a USPTA Professional in San Diego and the Tennis Pro at the Naval Base San Diego. I have over 20 years of playing experience and have been ranked in 5.5 NTRP tournaments in San Diego. I earned a bachelor of science degree in Medical Technology from Centro Escolar University in Manila, Philippines and earned my Masters Degree in Business Administration at the University of Phoenix. I also served as an Electronics Technician in the U.S. Navy for 10 years.
Teaching Style
I specialize in improving technical aspects of all swings and footwork that will not only effectively help students with their game but also more importantly to prevent injury. All players will be instructed with proper progression commensurate to their improvement observed and actual performance. Moreover, training will depend upon the needs of the student. Cardio training group lessons are also available.

Coach J is awesome! He quickly assessed what skills daughter (15) needed and got started right away. I saw instant improvement! He not only teaches the physical aspects but the mental skills that go along with playing the game...strategy. He creates a positive repoir with his student and give lots of encouragement. I'm on a business trip and signed up for 3 lessons. WOW. Just finished lesson 1 of 3 and I'm pumped. Jayner listened to my lesson objectives, watched me hit, then took videos, then explained two basic things I could improve on ... one on forehand setup, and a different thing on backhand setup. We only practiced them for a short time and I already saw nice improvements. Better than expected!!! Can't wait for lessons 2 and 3.
I like the way Coach Jayner trains my son. He pays attention to detail for the things my son needs help with. My son is very happy with how much his tennis game has improved.
I just started to play tennis by joinning a club. I was swinging randomly without any knowledge since I’m so beginner. However, even from the first lesson, this coach make me experience real changes. He knows what he’s doing and seems like he knows how human body works when small details come in together. He’s really dedicated to a lesson and motivating so that I can make a significant progress. He’s humble and really wants to help me by noticing very small mistake!

Coach Jayner is an excellent judge of what exactly is going wrong. He is very patient . I used to play other racket sports and had some "Bad habits" when it comes to Tennis.
Coach helped to clear my slate and start from scratch. All bases were covered including foot movement, form , point of contact, follow-through and mental/physical conditioning.
I like how we start from basics every class and then move on to learn something new.
My teenage daughter is a beginner to the sport & she takes weekly tennis lessons with Jayner to learn the basics and proper techniques. She is enjoying the lessons and I definitely have seen the progress in her swing. Her improvement is a testament of his coaching, and I would recommend Jayner as a tennis coach.
