Hi, my name is Jay. I am a professional tennis instructor at the Mission Viejo Country Club and the Saddleback women's tennis coach. I have been the Saddleback women's tennis coach for 15 years and have been teaching in the Mission Viejo area for 25 years. I have experience in teaching all levels of players from beginners to advanced to tour level players. I have taken students from beginner to pro level. I've had many students who became highly ranked and many more who received a college scholarship. I taught my son from the beginning to now where he is a scholarship tennis player at the University of Oregon. I emphasize good fundamentals and knowledge of the game. I expect the student to work hard but at the same time I like to have fun. I do hold the student to a high standard but I never yell at a student. I understand that each person learns differently and I work hard to connect with the student on the level on which they are comfortable.

The first thing I do when I meet a new student I listen to what they want out of the lesson. Next, I see what their tendencies are and what we have to build upon. From then on I try to shape the students stroke and movement to be economical and efficient.
