About Me
Hello, my name is Jana. I have been playing tennis for 8 years and I have been competing at a high level the last 5 years. I played in college and I plan on playing women’s professional tournaments for the next year, after already competing in two tournaments. I have worked with an excellent coach and I have learned valuable information about coaching that I wish to share. I have experience coaching juniors and adults. I enjoy working with any age as long as the student shows enthusiasm and willingness to learn and have fun at the same time. I grew up in South Africa, where I attended High School. I came to the United States where I attended college in Baytown Texas, Northern Virginia and will finish my bachelors at the University of Houston this year with a degree in English.
Teaching Style
For the lesson structure, it usually depends on the student. I like to seek out a student’s natural feel for something and then I like to perfect that and then look at other parts of tennis that I can instruct a student on and improve on that. I teach every stroke. I believe a student should learn everything.

easy going, friendly, and a great instructor. im a total beginner and Jana broke down techniques in a way that was easy to understand (and without going into long detail) and demonstrated a few times so i could see the correct way.

Great coach, as my first time coach she analyzed my existing form and skill level and made suggestions for improvement, I felt that she was very knowledgeable and patient. Each lesson began with a specific activity in mind, i.e. backhand, serve, etc. I had immediate results and was pleased with my progress. The only reason for not selecting 5 stars is we had a couple of scheduling hiccups, otherwise a great experience. I would strongly recommend Jana to anyone at any skill level.
Jana is a great teacher of the game. She is great for all level of players. My daughter started with Jana in 2014, and has made her a better more confident player. Jana has a lot of patience and gives positive feedback. She makes tennis a fun experience and knows the game really well. Additionally, her rates are really reasonable, especially compared to other lesson rates in the area.
I highly recommend her for lessons, or just to hit with, regardless of level.
Jana was my first introduction to tennis and tennis lessons. She is the most patient coach and teacher that I have ever met! I am very much a beginner, but she has encouraged and coached me, suitable to my level and development. My tennis lesson with her is definitely the highlight of my week! I look forward to lessons, every week! I'm excited to watch more professional tennis online and on tv. Tennis lessons have added a new dimension to my life and the way I approach challenges. I have been taking lessons with Jana for a few months and my game has improved tremendously. I played as a child and teenager but had not hit balls in over 15 years. Jana gave me just the right amount of refresher time and went right into improving all aspects of my game. She is always flexible with my schedule, whether traveling or not securing a babysitter, she finds a time to reschedule my lesson. My twins, aged 12, have been taking tennis lessons with Jana for two months and are thoroughly enjoying it. Tennis is a new sport for them so they were nervous trying something new. Jana made them very comfortable from the outset and they have enjoyed it so much they want tennis to be one of their main core sports and to continue with Jana in their lessons.
