About Me
Hi, my name is Don. I am a certified instructor with the USPTR. My instructional rating is Instructor +. I have been certified for 20 years with the PTR and have been teaching tennis for more than 30 years. During this time I have worked primarily with juniors (all ages/levels) in the Portland/Vancouver metro area. I relocated to Houston, TX, in 2012 and live in Missouri City, TX, about 20 miles from Houston. I also have experience working with adults and seniors, teaching lessons and drill classes at public parks and for the Houston Youth Tennis program. I was just selected PTR Pro of the Year for 2021 for the State of Oregon by the USPTR!
Teaching Style
I teach an all-court tennis game to include serve and volley. I provide special instructions for doubles players/teams. Emphasis is placed on different doubles formations and serve locations. For the last 30 years I have served as the CEO and head pro for Kids N’ Tennis, Inc. Kids N’ Tennis is a non-profit organization that provides free lessons for kids during the summer and uses a "sliding-scale” for indoor lessons during the fall/winter sessions.
