The Story: Playing competitively and tournaments in high school, I was given the opportunity at an early age with the help of my HS Tennis Coach that I would venture into coaching at the early age of 17. I became a self-driven entrepreneur first teaching tennis for the City of Arcadia then expanding doing private lessons mentoring kids/teens/adults. I went to school at Cal Poly Pomona studying Business with an emphasis in Computer Information Systems. Because of tennis, I started my internship at Bank of the West and now I am working at Palo Alto Networks as a Senior Business Systems Analyst. I have a passion to teach, share job experiences which will be relatable to tennis, life experiences as well as mentoring.

Teaching Style

I like to try to teach the student(s) all the fundamentals in 1 lesson and see what the student(s) strength or weakness (depending on the player's experience).

1. Fundamentals (forehand, backhand, volley, serves)
2. Fun Games (Line Tag...etc)
3. Rally Games (Beat the coach...etc)
4. Match Play (depending on student)

Teens to Adults
1. Fundamentals (grip, footwork, posture, swing, court awareness, etc)
2. Ball feeding (forehand, backhand, volley, services)
3. Match Play
4. Network

Chris is a very observant coach that always give accurate feedback to my plays which is really helpful for me to find the right things to focus on. Also Chris is great at communicating his observations and make the learning easy. It is a pleasure to take tennis class from Chris!

Christopher (Chris) is great! He's super friendly and patient which is 100% necessary when you're trying to learn tennis for the first time. When I first met Chris, I loved how personable he was-- I felt completely at ease with him. He was receptive to my many questions and addressed all of my concerns. I would definitely recommend Chris as a tennis coach to all my friends + family!

Maily C. - July 7, 2017

Lisa H. - July 1, 2017

Dustin R. - September 15, 2017

Chris instantly connected with my child and got her motivated to learn and play tennis, He keeps her attention by making lessons fun and witch just the right amount of challenge. He emphasizes form, which is so important, and takes the pressure off getting the ball over the net every hit. Moreover, he's given me tips how to reinforce his lessons when we play for fun without being too "coach-like." Chris is a great teacher, he is knowledgeable, thorough, and enthusiastic!
