Hi, my name is Chris and I have been playing tennis since age 8. I began playing more competitively at age 12 and still play singles and doubles tournaments. I have been teaching tennis for the past five years and have enjoyed improving others' tennis games as well as continuing to improve my own tennis game. I graduated from Hamilton High School in 2010 and I played varsity tennis there for four years. I enjoy teaching players of all ages and skill levels. Lately, I have been teaching more intermediate and advanced players. I graduated from Arizona State University last year and I work as an accountant off the tennis court.
I first begin with a warmup. The warmup usually includes a few laps around the court followed by stretching. After a few minutes, I begin stroke warmup by either playing mini tennis or feeding ground strokes depending on what I see that would be most effective for the student. Next, I do a drill related to the skills that I want the student to practice that day. For example, I might want to work on groundstrokes and volleys. For this particular day drills might include groundstrokes feeds and rally, ground strokes approach shot and volley drill, volley wars drill, and any other drill that fits in with the lesson. For the last 20 minutes I either concentrate on the serve or play games. Usually with adults we work on the serve then play some serve and rallies. With kids, I usually dedicate the last part of the lesson to games that way they leave with a positive attitude and have some fun. I specialize in teaching the forehand and serve. My own serve can get up to 120 mph or higher, so I understand it takes proper technique and a lot of practice to possess an effective serve.

I just wanted to take the time to write a review on one of the best tennis coaches I have ever had. I originally went to Chris in order to improve my overhand serve and I feel I have improved in more ways than one. Some qualities I would like to list about Chris is that he is passionate in his coaching methods, he pays attention to your wants and needs and he even comes to your matches to see what you can improve on. He has helped me so much in my forehand and backhand serve and he has taught me more strategies in how to play the game. His patience is also noteworthy he is always focused on improving your skills and gives you positive feedback.
I worked with Chris for about a year. Chris helped me a lot with mastering my groundstrokes- mainly my forehand but also my backhand. He also helped me with serve. He makes getting better at tennis easy, yet fun. I highly recommend him!
My 14-year-old son needed some fine tuning and the tips that Chris gave were invaluable. I highly recommend Chris without reservation!
Chris is very patient and has great alternative approaches to address a given technique. I enjoy working with him.
