About Me
Hi, my name is Cate. I've been playing tennis since I was about 10 years old, so I've spend literally hundreds of hours on court, which is my favorite place in the world to be. I've been a PTR-certified tennis instructor since 2011 and during the summers I'm very active teaching & playing tennis. I coached the Fairhaven High School (MA) boy's tennis team for two seasons in 2014 and 2015. Nothing comes close to my love for this game, except perhaps for sharing that love, unbridled enthusiasm, and knowledge about the game of tennis with my students.
Teaching Style
My emphasis is on having fun while learning. I believe in making sure that my students begin to develop the core competencies, e.g. forehand & backhand groundstrokes, basic, but essential, footwork patterns, volleying, and beginning to learn the foundations of good serving. How each student progresses through learning these core competencies is unique to each student, and my teaching style and philosophy is designed to meet the needs of each individual student.
