About Me

I played at the Division I collegiate level at Winston Salem State University. I have taught tennis for 12 years. I have introduced many children to the game as well as taught high school students and adults. I have experience teaching all levels, from beginners to advanced players. I grew up in North Carolina playing many USTA state events and local junior tournaments and ITA events in college. I am experienced in both competition and instruction for those playing USTA leagues and tournaments or those trying the sport for the first time.

Teaching Style

I teach beginner to NTRA 4.0 and teach a two handed backhand or one handed if you have the strength to control the racquet. We will focus on proper form before we work on power.

Student Feedback

Andrew is very knowledgeable, experienced, and supportive. He focuses on form, which is exactly what I needed from lessons. He communicates clearly and has reasonable expectations. Andrew responds to communications quickly and is flexible with scheduling lessons. I would highly recommend him.

This morning I had my first lesson with Andrew. First, he is adorable (I'm old enough to be his mom so I can say that). I thought a private lesson would be awkward, but it wasn't. The time went quickly, and I learned a lot. I'm feeling hopeful. 😊

Andrew is a great instructor. His teachings increased my ranking and game. He is a technical trainer and can help work on faulty mechanics. My backhand has become so much better and it's shown in my game. Great trainer, I recommend him to everyone. If you want to increase your level of game play and learn/increase proper mechanics, regardless of what level you are, Andrew is your guy.

Totally had a great first lesson. I did not feel rushed or hurried. Technically proficient in drilling mechanics. Great demeanor and proper encouragement/ correction. Can't wait till #2!

Andrew is awesome and has really helped my son in just a few short lessons. My son looks forward to lessons and is really enjoying his time with Andrew. I highly reccommend Andrew for lessons.

Andrew's patience and humor helped motivate me to work harder. I appreciated his attention to the fundamentals and use of analogies in his instruction. He tailored the lessons to my skillset. He worked with me to reach my goals. I am very thankful for his time and his effort.

I highly recommend Andrew! He was great with my 14 year old daughter -- he was very patient with her and her skills definitely improved.
