About Me
Tennis Greetings! My name is Andy Webb and I am currently an independent sales rep in the tennis industry and a local tennis coach. I am a former touring professional/USPTA/PTR certified professional with more than 35 years of teaching and managing experience. Many of my students have achieved their goals of rankings, college scholarships and NCAA titles. Most of my students are beginners and recreational players who want to improve their tennis skills and have FUN doing it! My belief is that tennis is a lifestyle and a game for a lifetime, so let's hit some balls!
Teaching Style
My teaching style is a combination of my own past teachers/coaches, which include Bay Area legends Martin "Blackie" Jones and Dennis Van der Meer (PTR founder) along with College HOF coaches Harry R. James and Bill Price. I believe in taking the best from the Modern Power Game and combining with the best with the Conventional Control Game. Each lesson has a skill topic to learn using the latest teaching techniques and then incorporating into a play situation.

My seven year old son as been taking tennis lessons with Coach Andy for several months now and we couldn't begin to say enough nice things about him. He's patient, shows my son how to do everything very clearly, and really explains the game of tennis to him so he understands the reasons for each move. He's very encouraging and positive, and quite funny! He is also very flexible if things come up, and so wonderful to work with.
My 12 year-old son has been receiving tennis instruction from Andy for about a year, and Andy is a fantastic instructor! I have watched him coach a wide range of ages, and he has the ability to connect with all of them. His instruction is clear and he works hard to help students make corrections immediately. It is obvious that Andy loves teaching tennis, and he loves to encourage the students and have fun with them while holding them accountable during the lesson!
We love Andy. He's terrific with kids and genuinely cares about their progress. A rare find these days! He has been teaching my daughter (11) and son (9).
Andrew is an effective teacher who really improved my game. He's able to tell you exactly what you need to work on. He's very patient and does not undermine your confidence. I took his group class and he made the experience fun by using a variety of drills while getting us to laugh at our mistakes.
Andy always had a positive attitude and many helpful hints on how to play better tennis. He is a great guy and a very good instructor. If it's one-on-one or with a group, he has many exercises to help everyone learn and have fun playing tennis.
This was a great class. All of the kids loved it and looked forward to playing tennis with Coach Andy. We even signed up for an additional class the following week. Coach Andy assesses the students abilities accurately and provides challenging and fun experiences. I highly recommend Coach Andrew and we will be taking more classes from him.
He is the best coach that I ever had. He taught me how to hold the racket, to serve properly, to hit forehands, backhands, etc. I have been having 4 lessons with him but I've already learned alot. He is a passionate coach. I really like the way he taught me and I also had fun.
