About Me
Hi, my name is Andrew. I am an experienced tennis competitor and coach previously ranked in the top 200 nationally in junior tennis under 18 division. I have taught high level juniors, adults and beginners for 5 years early in my career at Louisville Indoor Racket Club, Louisville Boat Club, and Big Spring Country Club.
The highlight of my competitive career was competing in National tournaments across the country against professionals Tommy Paul and Chris Eubanks
Teaching Style
I structure my warmup with some basic stretching and a quick lap around the court. I then go into a simple ground stroke warmup from the service line. We then move to the baseline rallies, alternating forehand and backhand shots and emphasizing foot work. Normally, I would then set up targets for students to hit during fast feeds for forehand and backhand in the corners. If they hit the target, they get a prize. I emphasize form when I’m teaching during feeding balls. During clinics, I would transition to a 3 to take over type of game, emphasizing the need to change court direction depending on the opponent’s stance. I would then transition to serve fundamentals and divide the areas of the service box into thirds. If they hit the left the left or right side of the box they get bonus points as opposed to every made first serve. I would wrap the lesson with return practice and point play normally.
