About Me

My name is Andres, I just moved to Richmond, VA and I used to coach college tennis (Division 1 and Division 3). I love teaching and have a lot of experience with players of all levels, from beginners all the way to college players and professionals. I also coach players of all ages!

Teaching Style

I have worked with different methods, feeding, live ball, and sparring. I mix trainings based on the need and goals of the player.

We have had two lessons with Andres so far. My wife and I decided to take lessons as a group with her being a beginner and me having played many years ago. The great thing about Andres is he is very good at involving both of us in the lesson and tailoring his advice based on our skill set. He is also very patient and has a positive attitude, which makes the lessons enjoyable.

I have learned so much since starting lessons with, Andres. Andres, has a great communication style, from scheduling lessons to instructing. He is clear and patient when explaining new concepts or correcting my form. As a beginner, I have seen such an improvement in my skill set from our lessons. I have improved on my forehand, backhand, and learning to slow down my speed to have better form. I look forward to continuing lessons!

Andres is an incredible instructor. Detail oriented but encouraging, he keeps you on task but makes it fun. After my first two lessons I feel much better and am excited to continue. Highly recommend (speaking as a beginner, though he would be great for advanced players too).

Very focused on technique. Very supportive and patient. Makes it a positive experience.

Punctual, worked at my level and ensured I was always comfortable with the approach and if I had any issues with my prosthetic hips!

Andres is talented, experienced, friendly, and optimistic. It had been nearly two years since I had hit a tennis ball because of strained tendon in my hitting arm (tennis elbow maybe?). He worked on my takeaway extension on my backhand, my follow-through on both forehand and backhand, on footwork, and on direction. He worked on my serve toss and on court positioning as well. Andres is former college coach so he's experienced in teaching. He doesn't come in with only one approach--not just "his way" of doing things. Instead, we tested a few options on foot positioning ,on forehand strokes, and other techniques based on how I think, how I approach the game, and what motivates me. He's a real find. I encourage people to seek him out.
