About Me

Hi! my name is Alex, I started playing tennis at the age of 8 years old and was ranked at the top of my age group in both France and Switzerland were I played competitive tennis for many years. In college, I played varsity level doubles and singles for 4 years and worked as part of the varsity coaching team where I participated in all phases of coaching, training and recruiting efforts of student athletes. After college, I continued to teach tennis to kids and adults of all levels of play in different clubs and tennis associations. My extensive experience includes coaching at the BlackHawk Country Club in California, the Montreal National Tennis Association in Canada, the Nyon Tennis Club in Switzerland, and more recently the Treyburn Country Club and Brier Creek Country Club in North Carolina. I am also fluent in French and conversational in Spanish. Overall, I possess an outstanding background as a competitive player and over 10 years of coaching and teaching experience. I am professionally certified with both the PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) and Swiss tennis coaching certificates. Please feel free to contact me for more information on my lessons. See you on the courts! - Alex

Teaching Style

I aim for personal and individualized instruction with a specific goal set depending on your personal needs and expectations. You will be able to learn new skills faster than using books, videos, ball machines or your own trial & error. In every lesson, I emphasize on the evolution of weaknesses into strengths and bring insight and feedback to bring your tennis game to its full potential. As I learned to play tennis in Europe and coached mostly in North America, I tend to use a mix of USTA/PTR and European tennis teaching techniques and game development. Every client has a different goal in tennis, this is why I believe its important for a coach to remain flexible and adaptable.

Alex is an excellent tennis coach and instructor for all levels of tennis. He is very patient, encouraging and an excellent communicator. He is able to correct things one by one and uses a progression teaching method so that you stay on track towards your individual goals. I have seen significant improvements in my tennis game. Thanks, Symon

I've had about 7 lessons with Alex and I'm very pleased with his easy-going and yet very thorough and efficient approach to training. During our first lesson we went over my goals and he did an assessment of all my strokes. Each of his lessons are broken up into racket and stroke warm up, skill/technique development and game development. I can say that I am very pleased with my progress and would highly recommend Alex to anyone who wants to learn the game or take his skills to the next level.

Very knowledgeable coach. Breaks down his lessons into different parts and works on one skill at a time so you can improve quicker. He also creates good drills and games. Very flexible and can easily adapt to your learning style. I would recommend.

Alex was my tennis pro and taught me tennis over many lessons. I have nothing but amazing things to say of how Alex teaches and handles his clients. He knows exactly how far to push me and things to say to motivate me to improve. He is very reactive and attentive to my needs and goals in tennis and has used my strengths to further improve my game, while steadying my weaknesses. I also really enjoyed just talking tennis strategy with him and building a point.

In just one summer, I improved to the level that I wanted to be and thoroughly loved going out to hit the ball - or even competing. If he had stayed in Montreal, he would have been my personal coach for as long as I could still walk! Merci, Alex!

Hi,

My son has started taking lessons with Alex in the Chapel Hill area. Alex is an extremely knowledgable coach. He is very patient with my 8 year old son and has experience teaching young kids the basics and tennis and how to make them love the sport. He also has all the materials needed to teach beginners. His sessions are very well organized as they are divided into warm up, technique teaching, drill sets, points and cool down. He can also adapt very easily and is flexible to work around the schedule. thanks! L

Alex gave me tennis lessons for 3 years and helped me game in so many different ways. In each lesson, Alex always came up with new drills, exercises and tactics which made things very interesting. I was having a hard time moving around the court and needed help with my backhand. Alex started from the basics and took one step at the time while maintaining a time frame to work on other aspects of my game. Alex is a great teacher and will make sure you improve each and every lesson.
