About Me
Hello! My name is Alesia and I am a recent college graduate who earned my BS in Kinesiology (Human Movement Science) and Physical Education and Health from Liberty University. I also recently earned my M.A. in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University. I have 9 years of experience teaching and coaching tennis to all ages and levels of play. Whether you are just starting out with tennis, looking to refine your skills or interested in taking your game to the next level, it is important to make sure you get the best coaching possible so you don't form bad habits and you keep your body healthy! I was part of my D1 high school's 2 year State Championship streak for the state of Massachusetts and I competed in D1 track and field at Liberty for 2 years as well as the Men's Intramural tennis team which I made finals in multiple semesters in a row. I offer private lessons, (private hitting sessions) semi-private and group lessons to any and all interested. I am First Aid and CPR certified and am also certified through the Professional Tennis Registry. I currently teach high school Physical Education and coach the Varsity girl's tennis team for my school.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is simple: It is formed based on the specific client :) Generally I can get the feel for the type of player I am working with by the very first lesson! However, all my lessons start with a dynamic court workout which then segways into a short court rally drill. I will then choose drills specific to what my client is looking to work on and then translate the drills into a game scenario to help reinforce technique as well as teach strategy. I always close lessons with a review of what was covered in the lesson as well as a few quick drills clients can take home and work on.
