About Me
Hi! My name is Aimee and I'm 29 years old. I've been playing tennis since I was 8 years old. I grew up playing in the northern suburbs of Chicago and traveled all over the country to play USTA tournaments. I then played Division 1 collegiate tennis at the University of Iowa from 2013-2017. Afterwards, I traveled the world for 1.5 years to play professionally. I obtained a WTA singles and doubles ranking. I finished my playing career in November of 2018. I am excited to teach people of all ages and levels! I am very passionate about the game and love teaching. I also helped coach the University of Iowa women's tennis team in the 2017-2018 season as an assistant coach.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is to teach all areas of the game. I emphasize getting lots of repetition by hitting tons of balls, while focusing on good technique and hitting the ball the right way. The fundamentals (technique and grip) have to be there so that the player can hit the shot well. I focus on groundstrokes, net play, and serving. I structure lessons by spending majority of time on groundstrokes and leaving time in the second half for volleys, serves, and anything specific the player wants to work on. I like to hear feedback from the player on what they would like to work on also so that they can improve the areas they think they need to.
