About Me

Hi, my name is Tyler. I come from a tennis family. I have been playing since I was eight. My three younger brothers and I, all competed for our respective D1 Universities. Except for Tanner, because he had to go to Johns Hopkins. My father, Jimmy Brown, was ranked top 40 ATP. His two brothers also played professionally and played for the number 1 school in the nation at the time. My mom runs a pro shop and can string 20 racquets a day no problem. Tennis has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and nothing makes me happier than when I can use that experience to help someone improve their game.

I have been Coaching in Florida at Saddlebrook International Sports for the past 2 years where I was expected to do all of the following: 1) Hitting partner for ATP/WTA players. 2) Run practice for as many as 12 kids at a time for up to 6 hours a day. 3) Travelling tournament coach for top juniors in Florida. 4) Develop junior players individually within a certain time frame to meet their collegiate goals through lessons.

Teaching Style

The first lesson is typically dedicated entirely to assessing the technique of all your strokes. After the first lesson we can start building each of the strokes up prioritizing either difficulty or urgency. For example, you might be missing certain balls on the forehand because you aren't getting set up properly with the feet. However, when we work the backhand, we may not need to focus the feet as much . Instead, we do drills that focus how the arm moves when you are hitting. I can teach all levels as long as the effort is there! I emphasize; effort, patience, and no fear of failure because that is how you learn.
