About Me
Hello everyone! Firstly, thank you for taking the time to check out my profile. I have been playing tennis since I was 4, and was coached all through my junior career from my dad down in Jupiter, Florida. He played at University of Miami and got to 302 in the world at his best! Throughout my junior career, I picked up many tournament wins through USTA and have got a few ITA doubles titles along the way, as doubles is my preferred game. I also have a bronze ball in doubles as well! I am currently attending Shenandoah University and am class of 2030, as well as on the tennis team. I have a about 5 years of teaching experience. Throughout that time, I have taught about 3 of those years at the Els for Autism Foundation as well as teaching kids as young as 3 with that being their first time ever touching a racquet, helping other 5.0/collegiate level tennis players, being a hitting partner for top 100 players, or teaching "older" people whose knees are somehow healthier than mine! Must be all the clay courts 😂.
I want to note that the schedule I have listed is a very rough (and generous, considering I am in college) and I will not always be available at the times I have listed. I am pretty flexible in terms of when I am able to study and social events, but the times I cannot hit that I have listed out, cannot be managed around because I either have classes or team practice. It all really depends on class load, the Shenandoah men's tennis schedule, and my life in general. I can also teach on local public courts or courts near you if you'd like! It all just really depends, and I am sure we can work something out.
Teaching Style
My main goal is to make what I am trying to teach, as simple as possible every time.
As for my teaching style, I am a big fan of live ball drills, as they are the closest thing that we can get to a high pressure situation in practice. Drills where you hit a million balls are absolutely necessary, but are often an excuse for coaches to be lazy. They often don't simulate the real balls that you would get in a match, as opposed to the variation in quality, speed, height and depth that you would get in a match.
I am also a big fan of doing what comes naturally to you. I will help improve if you already have a base instead of changing your stroke or game completely to what is traditionally thought of as "best", and if not then we will build a base from the ground up!
Ultimately, I want to help you improve while getting in touch with the community around me at all levels!
