About Me
Hello, my name is Steve, I've been an avid tennis player since I was about 13 years old. I played through high school and college and then in league competitions while in USTA. I have a family with 5 children and have taught and coached them through the years. I try to be patient and encouraging while helping people enjoy the game and reach their goals.
Teaching Style
The first step is to evaluate the player and notice strengths and weaknesses.
For older and intermediate players, I listen to them and help them improve where they need it most. This boosts their confidence and helps them to then focus on other areas they may not have noticed or thought about.
For younger players and beginners, I look for simple ways they can improve their game and move up to the next level.
Although tennis form is not standardized, I think proper form helps players to fix problems with groundstrokes, serve and volleys.
My lessons use a combination of drills and competitive play but they are also based on the things that the student enjoys - they need to have fun or it will feel like practice - which isn't very fun.
