About Me
Hello! My name is Sarosh Rustomjee, but you can call me Rusty. I am an aspiring professional tennis player, and one of my greatest joys is helping others learn how to both enjoy and compete on the tennis court. This sport has so much to offer beyond just wins and losses. Tennis becomes exciting when you allow yourself to discover the tactics and techniques beyond the surface level, which I would love to guide you toward. Understanding these elements will not only help you appreciate the game in a new way but also enable you to play with correct biomechanics, maximizing your performance while minimizing pain or injuries. If this approach resonates with you, I’d love to help. I am currently studying in Orange County and would love to learn more about you as a person and a player so I can guide you toward reaching your own unique potential.
A bit about me: I was born in South Africa, spent most of my childhood in England, and moved to the United States eight years ago. For 4.5 years, I trained at a high-performance tennis academy in Southern California, fully immersed in the sport. After that, I spent some time competing in Division 1 Tennis at a college in New York, where I then decided to transfer to Chapman University, where I am currently competing. Along the way, I have had the privilege of coaching and assisting many players, watching as many of them have become so many steps closer to being the best version of themselves on court. I have been so fortunate to learn from unbelievably decorated coaches and mentors, gaining a deep understanding of the seemingly never-ending intricacies of tennis, knowledge I am excited to share with you!
Teaching Style
When I first start working with a student, my goal is to learn all about their strengths, difficulties, and untapped potential across various aspects of the game. Only after we both understand this will we craft a plan together based on their unique playing style. Once the plan has been made, we both become the teacher as we travel down this new path of learning together, using my experience as a guiding force.
