About Me

Hello, my name is Sandro, and I am a local Wyndmoor/Glenside tennis coach with over 25 years of tennis experience and over 5 years of coaching experience.
I am Italian and I was an assistant coach in my club in Florence for kids and young competitive players for over three years.

A few years ago I moved to Philadelphia. In 2021 I got certified as a USPTA tennis instructor
.
I still have a business in Italy and I am often away during the summers. That gives me the opportunity to play in both continents, and to play on different surfaces with different tactics and skill. I enjoy playing on all different types of surfaces.

Since I began living in Philadelphia I have been playing in the 4.0 USTA league. I am currently ranked as number 1 in the Philadelphia district, and number 11 Nationally for Pennsylvania.

In Italy I play in the FIT league tournament that is the equivalent of USTA and this year I
qualified as 4.3.

Teaching Style

I play with a one-handed backhand, but I can teach two handed as well.
I played a lot on clay in Italy to develop my game with a lot of spin .

I love all aspects of tennis, I like that it gives me the chance to meet new people from all different places and with different skills.

I love helping all levels of players, beginners, intermediate or advanced. It doesn’t matter if you play just for fun, or if you play more competitively. I'll help you improve your game, from teaching the basic strokes to tactics to win matches. I love to work on both the mental and physical sides of tennis.

I am very patient and I like my students to have fun during their lessons, but I also like when they are happy about their improvement.

Tennis is a beautiful sport, it can help you stay fit, meet new people, stay focused, and have fun!!
