About Me
Hi, my name is Sam. I got my start in tennis by receiving instruction from USPTA pro and former NCAA division 1 singles champion Charles Bleckinger. It was through Mr. Bleckinger that I began my coaching career in 2018, working as an assistant coach in his beginner's youth class - the same setting where I was first introduced to tennis as a small child. I am currently an instructor for an elementary after school program, as well as a weekend youth league. In addition to my on-court experience, I have studied physical education pedagogy (teaching methods) at the university level.
Teaching Style
I aim to build well-rounded, technically sound tennis players by developing their fundamental skills and match strategy. Fundamental skills include: ball control, serve and return serve, groundstrokes and volleys, etc. For more experienced players, I create custom plans to build and refine their game, expanding their repertoire of skills.
