About Me

Hello, my name is Ryan. I have been playing competitive tennis since I was 10-years-old. I recently graduated from Assumption College. This is a division two school where I played for 3 years as the number 1 singles player. I have also played one year at division one Fairleigh Dickinson University. Currently I am playing professional futures tournaments in an attempt to earn some ATP points. I have been coaching for 3 years, most recently working at the Stavri Tennis Academy. Prior to that I have coached high performance players in the New England area. I am comfortable working with all ages and all playing levels. I am on track to getting my PTR certification in a few months.

Teaching Style

I believe the most important thing for all players is technique. With the proper technique to all strokes there is no limit to where you can go with the sport. Depending on the level of the student I may structure a lesson where we focus on a few aspects of a particular stroke and work on improving its functionality whether that is control, power, or spin. It is important to eliminate hitches from the stroke that may take away from those three aspects of the shot. If a player already has well groomed strokes we may focus on timing or different aspects of the shot that player may struggle with. For example, the on the run forehand, the skip forehand, the high or low ball, the slice, and so on.
