About Me

Hi, my name is Roy. I grew up in NY, and have been playing and teaching tennis for over twenty years. As a junior, I earned a scholarship and trained at the Port Washington Tennis Academy located in Long Island, NY. I later trained at the Dennis van der Meer's Tennis University located in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and played my college tennis at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. I am a USPTR certified tennis instructor, and was previously a ranked member of the USTA’s Eastern section Men's 35 division for 5 years. I have been teaching tennis in Bergen County, NJ for more than 10 years.

Teaching Style

I specialize and teach the small "C" in the ground strokes, with emphasis on the forehand. A basic lesson starts with a mini tennis warm up, moves into ground stroke improvement, and depending on how long that takes, I would save some time for serving. Volley's come later in a series of lessons.
